Home dental impressions: preparing the process

A home dental impression records the shape of your teeth to manufacture an appliance intended for this route. MyoProtect is made from such an impression. Follow the instructions of the kit actually supplied: no mixing time or universal protocol applies to every material.
What an impression provides and what it does not check
An impression conveys shape. It does not replace examination of teeth, gums or jaw pain. Before choosing a guard, report discomfort, a loose tooth, limited opening or current treatment to the professional.
To choose the intended use, see the different types of dental appliances. An impression used for a protective appliance does not by itself establish a bruxism diagnosis.
Before opening the materials
- Check the kit name, received components and matching instructions.
- Read all instructions before preparing a mixture.
- Identify the required arch and stated setup conditions.
- Find the contact for difficulties or missing parts.
- Ask about return and impression-validation conditions.
If information is missing, obtain an answer before starting. Do not infer the procedure from a video featuring another product.
Why there is no universal minute-by-minute tutorial
Kit contents, timings and stages depend on the materials. Inventing them could produce an unusable impression. This page therefore helps preparation; the kit instructions provide the exact actions and times.
This guide's illustrations are editorial and do not show a clinical step to reproduce. A procedural demonstration must use the actual kit and instructions.
Successful or failed impression: who decides?
Ask the manufacturing service how the impression is validated before proceeding. Your own visual judgement does not guarantee accuracy or the final appliance's fit.
Before ordering, clarify repeat arrangements: reporting an error, required materials, possible fees and when manufacture begins. This page promises no free replacement policy.
Manufacture, shipping and checks
| Stage | Information to obtain |
|---|---|
| Returning the impression | Address, packaging and return method |
| Validation | Who checks it and how you are informed |
| Manufacture | Starting point and stated timing for your order |
| Receipt | Instructions, fit and contact for difficulties |
Keep instructions and correspondence. Shipment tracking is not a clinical fit check: report discomfort or an appliance that does not seat as expected.
The relevant MyoForce appliance
MyoProtect is offered at €90 with a 3 mm dual-layer construction. Its purpose is to sit between teeth. We claim neither a guaranteed end to bruxism nor demonstrated clinical equivalence between a home impression and examination in a practice.
For details of the offer and current process, use MyoForce contact. The guide to a pharmacy or custom-made guards distinguishes manufacturing routes.
Common questions
Is a home impression as accurate as one taken in a practice?
No overall equivalence is claimed here. Quality depends on the protocol and validation; an impression does not replace clinical examination.
What if I get the impression wrong?
Contact the service named in the instructions before reusing or modifying materials. Ask for the exact repeat procedure.
How long does manufacture take?
Check the timing confirmed for the offer when ordering. No fixed turnaround is invented on this page.
