MyoForce Lab: custom appliances made from dental impressions
MyoForce Lab brings together MyoForce’s custom appliance projects: protection against wear associated with bruxism, and orthodontic retention. Both start with an impression, but their uses need to be distinguished.
MyoProtect: a protective night guard
MyoProtect is a custom guard made from a dental impression taken at home. It has a 3 mm dual-layer construction. Its listed price is €90.
It is designed as dental protection. A custom fit is not a therapeutic bite adjustment and does not guarantee an end to clenching or grinding. Discuss the choice of a guard with the professional familiar with your situation.
Retention: maintaining a result
Retention follows orthodontic treatment. It serves a different purpose from a bruxism guard. A night guard therefore does not automatically replace the retainer prescribed by your orthodontist.
An impression-based retainer project is part of MyoForce Lab. It is not yet available to order. If your retainer is lost, broken or too tight, contact your treating professional instead of choosing a replacement without advice.

An impression, followed by the necessary checks
An impression must reproduce the teeth sufficiently for manufacturing. Bubbles, distortion or a missing area may make it unusable. See our guide to dental impressions at home to understand the steps and their limitations. Follow the instructions for the actual materials supplied.
